Vanished Childhood

  • There is nothing to do when a child is locked up for 22 hours a day inside four walls. Solitary confinement makes kids feel they are left alone and that no one cares about them, resulting in them questioning if life is even worth living anymore.

  • A tremendous number of these youths have mental problems. They are already a very fragile population, making them more at-risk by locking them up.

  • Some believe kids should never be held in solitary confinement, and for that reason, I created "Vanished Childhood" to raise awareness and urge the public to act against solitary confinement by placing youth in an environment where they have an opportunity to grow and develop.

  • It is based on the understanding that youth have rights and needs that are different from adults. The organization aims to invest in youth, not banish them.
